Chemistry of Soap Making - Things You Need to Know Before You Start Making SoapThere are several different types of chemistry of soap making that you can apply to help make your soap. While most people just use a basic soap recipe and purchase the ingredients from the store, there are other things you can do to create a unique soap that is both cost effective and actually enjoyable to use. Just be sure that you do all of the following things before you begin your soap making project.- Determine if you want to purchase soap beads or soap bars. With these two options, you will be able to add color to your soap. A lot of the soap that is sold is already colored. However, if you do not like the color that is already on the bar or bead, you will have to buy a new one. This could cost a small fortune, so you may want to think about this first before you make your purchase.- Determine if you want to mix the soap with wax or oil. Sometimes people will also mix the ingredients together, howev er, if you do want to do this, you will need to know which one you want to use. Most bars contain a combination of both.- Some people prefer to use their soap in a water based formula. Others prefer to use a soap with a little bit of oil in it to give it a bit of body to it.- Once you have decided on the type of soap you are going to make, you will have to decide how much oil or wax you will need to put into the soap. You will also have to decide on the thickness of the soap you will need.- Then you will have to figure out the scented base for your soap. This is usually a blend of different oils and fats.Once you have completed the chemicals of soap making, you will have an assortment of different products you can make from your homemade soap. It is up to you to create your own unique recipe so that each person that uses your soap feels as though they are receiving something special. No matter what type of soap you make, just be sure that you follow the directions correctly and you will be on your way to creating a great soap.
